Cambridge

The Cambridgeshire Aerotow Club operates out of Sutton Meadows airfield near the village of Sutton, north west of Ely. It operates an XL tug. We welcome new members and visiting pilots. For more details on the club and how to find us see: http://www.cambridgeaerotow.co.uk/

The shortest way of getting to the airfield for most people requires crossing Sutton Gault, a ford that occasionally is flooded as part of the flood-water management regime in Cambridgeshire. You can check the status of whether Sutton Gault (just after the Anchor pub, see http://tinyurl.com/lpqcm6m) is flooded or not here: http://apps.environment-agency.gov.uk/flood/34681.aspx?area=052WAFHFW&page=1&type=Town&term=sutton%20gault. If it is, you need to go the long way around - approaching from the narrow lanes leading south east of Chatteris.

  • Tows £7.50 / 1000'
  • Visitor guest fee is £25 which includes a tow up to 2000'.
  • Subsequent tows are then at the rate above.

Please bring along your current BHPA card showing your aerotow environment otherwise we will be regrettably be unable to tow you.
