CAC2015 - Final Countdown

We are keeping a very close eye on the weather, looking to make a go / no-go decision on the competition this evening or if forecasts are iffy then tomorrow.  The clubs bringing tugs will be consulted as this is a serious effort.  Will keep informed on this page and also send mass-email.  Cautiously optimistic ...

CAC2015 - Weak Links

We will be using standard 100kg weak link on the lines.  I don't think we have any lighter pilots / smaller gliders but if you usually fly with something weaker then please let us know so we can make arrangements.

CAC2015 - Retrieves, Live Tracking, and Scoring

This year we have signed up to LiveTrack24 to track the competition as a live event.  Those unable to attend or families / friends back home will be able to watch the proceedings at http://www.livetrack24.com/events/cac2015

Flying at Cambridge 16th August

We have a crew for tomorrow (Sunday) and Phil Hadley is coming over to fly the tug (thanks hugely Phil). The forecast is for light winds (2-4mph) and cloudbase over 5000’ with lift available until 5-6pm in the Cambridge area. Some O/Rs or triangles must be on. We will be flying if nothing else changes. Let me know asap if you decide to join us so we can contact you if necessary.

For anyone who drives in through Longstanton and Willingham the road between them may be closed for roadworks this weekend. You should be able to detour through Over.

CAC2015 Waypoints

Nev has put together a list of waypoints which we plan to use at the competition for task setting.  If you know how to squirt into your instrument then please do so using one of the files in https://www.dropbox.com/sh/mlptecvlcmftwms/AAA-05eS6zE4eHp_hJeGSb7Ea?dl=0

If you don't, we'll sort you out on arrival.

Aerotow Competition Information Pack

All those who have a place should now have received your information pack by email.  If you haven't, please get in touch or email CAC2015.meethead@gmail.com.
Cheers,
Richard.

CAC AerotowingSunday 7th June 2015

Sunday turned out to be a great day. 11 pilots turned up at the field. Everyone flew and most people had good flights. Phil Hadley did 17 tows in total with the last tows after 18.00 and people still picking up lift. For instance I got to base at 6200' with areas of 600fpm lift after 6pm! Thanks Phil for a brilliant job! As Phil said - it was good to get some practice in for the aerotow comp later this year.

CAC2015 registration is open!

Registration details have now been added to the information page under "About > CAC2015" and it is now open.  Places are limited and so will be confirmed along with payment details by email.  This must be received by the end of May otherwise we will offer to the next person in the list.

We also ask that anybody who is able and willing to be a marshall please also sign up on the marshalls registration form.

Tuggies please also we need your squiggle in order to capture relevant contact details.

CAC2015 Registration opening soon

Preparations for registration are now hopefully complete.
